Urban Network turns 21


Legendary music executive and founder of Motown Records, Berry Gordy, was in attendance and honored at the Urban Network Music-Entertainment Summit’s Awards Gala, Saturday evening, March 14, 2009, at the beautiful Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills, Calif. The event, hosted and emceed by Urban Network CEO Miller London along with KJLH-FM Morning Show Man Guy Black, honored Mr. Gordy’s career achievements in salute to Motown’s year-long 50th Anniversary Celebration. On-hand for the festivities were Smokey Robinson, Suzanne DePasse, members of the Gordy family; Marvin Gaye’s widow, Anna; past Motown executives; and a host of performers that included Ali Woodson of the Temptations, Leon Ware, Leigh Jones, Alistair Records newcomer Chanj, super producer Teddy Riley, vocal ensemble Remembrance, Shanice, and Jaheim.
