Winner: Pechanga Resort and Casino, Temecula
This is truly a slice of Las Vegas in the heart of Southern California. Pechanga was already a premier destination before the Journey course opened in 2008, and that amenity has elevated the property to a more esteemed status. You can do it all — gamble, dine at one of four gourmet restaurants, enjoy premier entertainment at the Showroom, relax at the spa, play golf — and come back and have an entirely different experience. It’s that good.
Pacific Palms Resort, City of Industry
A full-scale renovation has elevated this Los Angeles-area destination into the upper echelon of Southland resorts. Pacific Palms has a modern flair and a posh vibe, but its tranquil setting and incredible views of the San Gabriel Mountains give visitors the impression of being far removed from city life.
