Iris & Simon | Wedding | Pacific Palms Resort

Posted in Weddings

On October 23, 2010, I had the honor to watch two of the nicest people get married at the gorgeous Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry. Once again, I had the opportunity to shoot side by side with one of Southern California’s top wedding photographer, Henry Chen (www.henrychenphotography.com). It’s always an honor and thrill to be working next to Henry, watching him work his wedding day magic. I can’t say enough of how much I appreciate Henry for what he has taught me and the opportunities he has provided me with. Thank You Henry!

Well onto the wedding of Iris and Simon, two really cool people I got to meet that day. Upon arrival at the Pacific Palms Resort, I was very impressed with how nice Pacific Palms Resort was. They had a conference going on, along with a Meg Ryan rally taking place later that day.  I started off with taking shots of Simon getting ready and soon afterwards the groomsmen came around to hang out. It was a big bridal party but it was one that was full of energy and  a lot of fun. The ceremony was beautiful as both them read their vows to each other and confessed their love for one another. Everything during this night was just perfect. To cap off the great wedding, Simon surprised Iris by singing an Andy Lau song dedicated to her. It was just one of those moments where it was hard to hold back a tear. Congratulations Iris & Simon and I wish you the very best together!

Pacific Palms Resort Wedding | Aleessa and Jason

Posted in Wedding

Aleessa and Jason are a such a wonderful couple. They keep telling me that they’re not the PDA (public displays of affection) type, but when I’m with them they’re always kissing.  Foregoing the traditional clinking of the glasses to make them kiss the guests took a unique approach.  Taking a note from a popular TFC show the crowd would yell, “Hip hip! Hip hip!” until the newlyweds would kiss and then yell even louder, “Hooray!”  If you’ve seen the show you can imagine how much fun that was.  The guests loved it so much Aleessa and Jason were kissing all night.  So much for a non-PDA couple.

A storm had just past the day prior to their wedding.  The Southern California skies came through once again and gave us a stunning backdrop for their bridal portraits.  Their reception was at the Pacific Palms Resort which sits on a hilltop in the City of Industry.  The clouds, skies, and the beautiful view from the hotel all lent a hand in the amazing images we got for Aleessa and Jason.  I’m very happy to have met these two and I know they’ll have a blissful marriage full of, “hip hip, hip hip…. hoorays”.

Iris + Simon’s Wedding: 10/23/2010 – Hey gang, sorry for the lack of blogging this past week, but I’m back from the East Coast and ready to share with you the amazing wedding of Iris and Simon from last Saturday. Planned and coordinated to perfection by the spectacular team of Elsa and Melissa from ME Events & Design, Iris and Simon aka Si-ris aka Cyrus rocked their big day at the Pacific Palms Resort in City of Industry.

The day was simply action packed from the get-go, when Iris, Simon, and their wedding party got ready, had the first looked followed by portraits, and then jumped right into a beautiful tea ceremony. Iris must’ve changed at least a half-a-dozen times, as she had her gorgeous white dress, a tea ceremony dress, and an evening gown/party dress for the reception. She looked amazing in each one, but not to be outdone was the super cool and slick Simon himself.

What I loved so much about this wedding was how everyone, led by Iris and Simon themselves, showed so much happiness and love throughout the whole day. We had memorable activities both at the ceremony and reception. For example, both Iris and Simon wrote their own vows and gave flowers to their respective moms. Then at the reception, Simon surprised Iris by singing an Andy Lau song, whom by the way, must be Simon’s number one fan ;). And the games, dancing, and toasts left everyone laughing and even crying.

Thanks Elsa for introducing me to Iris and Simon, and along with Melissa, coordinating an unforgettable day. And an extra special thanks to I + S for just being down-right awesome to work with. I wish you guys nothing but the very best, and yes, move over Andy Lau, Iris has her real man in Simon Yau :)!

as i predicted, iris and simon’s wedding was so fabulous.  the whole wedding resonated with i+s’s stylish and chic personalities… from iris and simon’s stylish attire to the entire décor and feel of the wedding.  the day was filled with fun events, with a classy tea ceremony, beautiful western wedding ceremony, followed by a crazy-fun reception.

siris, we had SO much fun working with you guys on your wedding and we are so sad it’s over!   but the best part is just beginning for you guys.  here’s to a happy and blessed marriage!!

without further ado, here is some eye-candy for you guys to enjoy… courtesy of MASTER photographer, henry chen.

get a load of those gorgeous blue shoes… and silver shoes!  iris also had 3 dresses that went perfectly with both pairs of shoes. ;)

after the tea ceremony, iris was dripping in gold, sparkling in diamonds and wrapped in red envelopes.

iris and simon wrote their own vows and they were so touching.  brought tears to everybody’s eyes.

look at little ringbearer dillon here!!  he was, hands down, one of my favorite ring bearers.  he was so cute and took his job as a ring bearer so seriously!  he did such a great job.  plus, he managed to handle TWO flower girls.  extra kudos for that!

great portraits here.  my fave has got to be the one in the middle at the top.  that picture really portrays i+s’s great personalities… and leave it to the two of them to make a picture like that look so good.

gorgeous, gorgeous details…. complete with hello kitty champagne!

action packed reception… filled with good food, music, dancing, and games.  the best part: simon had a big surprise planned for iris.  when Iris least expected it, simon grabbed the mic and sang her an andy lau song.  translated into chinese, the song title means “can’t stop loving you.” it was such a sweet and romantic gesture!  i was so excited when simon shared his big surprise with me before the wedding… and i had to fight extra hard to not spill the beans to iris!
